Very few details about this latest remake are available at this time, but the brothers who directed Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, Joe and Anthony Russo, are slated to produce the film. Next in line for Disney appears to be Hercules, a movie that hit towards the tail end of the Renaissance era, but a film that has a dedicated fanbase nonetheless. RELATED: Disney Reportedly Considering Robin Hood Movie Remake The House of Mouse has not only been remastering their classic SNES and Genesis offerings, but also going back into the catalogue and remaking its most beloved movies. So much so that the Aladdin and The Lion King games received the remaster treatment and were released on the PS4, Switch, and Xbox One last year. But Disney’s rendition retains a few of the original elements: Hercules did technically have to die before he achieved immortality, and Hercules’ self-sacrifice can be compared to the original Heracles killing Nessos (both took place on a river, and they can both be consideredto an extentacts of love). Not only were the movies blockbusters on the big screen, but the games found a place in fans' hearts as well. The Disney Renaissance-the era where Disney reversed their sagging fortunes during the late 80s and early 90s-produced some of the studio's best work. Given the box office success the company has seen from remakes of The Lion King, Aladdin, and Beauty and the Beast, it's not a surprise that Disney is dipping back into the well for another remake.
