The rewards for going to this effort are quite compelling: Finally, it has more fanservice than some people would want. Next, there's a lot of surreal qualities to Touka Gettan, and it takes a certain amount of effort (and willingness) to absorb it all. After that point, the show becomes much more straightforward. Anyone planning to watch it has to have the patience to watch at least the first 6 or 9 episodes before figuring out what's going on. Because of its story structure, veiwers aren't given any context for the events in the beginning, and there's no real way to understand the first few episodes. There are a few caveats which keep Touka Gettan from being more suitable for everyone. This works similarly to the live-action movie Memento albeit with a much stranger plot. It's unique in that the entire show (with a couple of exceptions) is told backwards - the first episode shows the last chronological events, and the last episode shows the first chronological events (save for flashbacks). If you have a tolerance for weird material, then you should give Touka Gettan a try. Things like Monster, Paranoia Agent, Boogiepop Phantom, Technolyze, Lain, Blame! (the manga), Mindgame (movie), Paprika (movie), Jin Roh (movie) so suggestions in that department would be heavily appreciated as well. I've also a huge interest in the darker, more weird side of anime.
